Set the right goals this new year (part 1)

During this celebration, planning for a new year is a very crucial step for a significant year. Everyone hopes that the future will be better than the past, so as the coming year. When you go through your previous years, little or a lot of your plans might change and none might even work out. In this article, I will detail some guilds that can help you get focused on accomplishing your goal for this new year.

A profitable year is not just about thinking about your goals and trusting to see excellent results at the end of the year. Most people claim they understand the importance of goal setting to attain a better life, but in fact, 80 percent of individuals don’t set goals and 70 per cent out of the 20 percent that set goals don’t even achieve those goals. Some strategies and steps can help guild the accomplishment of your goals.

First, go through what you did wrong and also right this year. “Don’t be afraid to try new things. They aren’t all going to work, but when you find the one that does, you’re going to be so proud of yourself for trying. Take a deep look at your past year and the mistakes you have made during that year. However, not only your mistakes but also look at what you did right and aim for improvement. One factor that leads to failed goals can be a fear of success and/or failure. Fear of failure involves being afraid of attaining your goal. The fear of failure keeps people from setting goals and they don’t even bother trying to attain a goal. People just give up in their minds thinking they don’t believe in what they can do. This cause makes people think that no matter how they look at the situation, they feel it can’t be accomplished. But the truth is “YOU CAN DO IT” just put it in your mind. Give yourself hope and believe you can do it.

Achieving a goal is best accomplished in steps, from the simplest or easiest to the more difficult. People tire of long-term goals cause they are stuck on the larger view rather than the short ones. Facing the complicated ones can discourage you from accomplishing the remaining goals. However, when you accomplish the easier ones, they can serve as an encouraging factor to help you push through the difficult ones.

Your approach matter in solving life problems. This also involves the fear of success. It’s hard to reach a goal that is worded as “don’t fall into this stupid trap” That not inspiring, and when you are first starting, you need the inspiration to stay committed to your goals. Having the right approach to a problem gives you more chances of accomplishing the goals. It can encourage you to push further, unlike a negative statement in your goals, which can make you get discouraged. Instead, make your goals positive statement such as, “Be a friend who says yes more” rather than, “can you achieve this goal? sigh”

Setting goals is not just about writing them down. You need to change some mistakes to aim at them better.

This question answers how to overcome your mistakes. Overcoming your mistake is not just about knowing them, but also knowing what can help overcome the problem. In overcoming your mistake, you need to be conscious of the mistake. When working on your new year's goals, always be conscious of what you did wrong and make you not fully achieve your goals. This helps you not to repeat the same mistake all of again.

iii. Are these goals realistic?

This is a very important goal that every one of us has to ask ourselves. Setting an unrealistic goal is like starting a car that does not have an engine hoping for it to start, will it “NO’’. It is always good to aim higher, but you can’t jump a step and move to another, except you are expecting a downfall. People aim to make millions of dollars without having the source of income or investment, hoping it would just ring in his/her account. When setting a goal start from the foundation of that goal, this can help you take it a step at a time. 

Always set goals that seem achievable which could be one year, one can’t say he wants to complete a house within a year when the fund has been put into the project that year can’t complete the house. Analyse all your goals both previous and future and see if they all seem realistic and achievable.


iv. How can I best accomplish this goal?

What will your achievement feel like? How will your life unfold differently because of your achievement?

If the goal is an object, a trip, or anything that can be visual, some gurus of goal setting recommend that you keep a picture of the item or destination where you see and are reminded of it every day. If you can’t picture yourself achieving the goal, chances are you won’t. (thebalancecareers)

Get active on the goal, be proactive. Not just picture yourself in a job or on a trip. Every single day looks at your goals and say to yourself “Am going to achieve this”. By saying this, there is always an energy of motivation that will always push you and give you the urge to work toward that goal.
